Mirror Makeover // Sometimes I Just Need to Paint

Removing wallpaper is not the most inspiring or creative endeavor... so yesterday, even though there is more work to be done in the bathroom I took a break to paint this mirror and make it pretty.

I picked up this mirror for $6 at a Yard Sale. It needed a coat of paint; but I knew that it had promise as a great piece for our Entryway.

It's painted with a sample pot of Valspar Satin Paint in Belle Grove Sorbet. It's a very soft minty green. This same paint is on the edges of the shelves in my hall closet makeover.

I used my Xyron Creative Station {affiliate link} to apply adhesive to the back of scrapbook paper which was cut down to the size of the drawer sides. It's a cute pop of color when you open the drawer.

Using the same scrapbook paper, my Cricut and a smaller Xyron Sticker Maker; I labeled the inside of the drawers. {Both of those are affiliate links too!}

The mirror felt a little off-balance when the door was open {since it blocks the right side of the wall} so I added two thrifted frames to the left side. You might remember them from our old Entryway.

One of my new {also thrifted} chairs sits right below the mirror. It's the perfect spot to put on shoes or set your bag.

Next up: getting rid of those coral walls. It's not a bad color, I love it in some spaces -- but it's just not us. And luckily, I don't have to remove any wallpaper first :)

Now... off to work on the bathroom! We've decided to hire out the tiling. It's a DIY project that we'd like to try someday; but we have a lot of other projects to tackle right now. The good news is, he'll be starting this week so we've got to finish up the demo!

Do you ever take a break from the tough projects to paint or be creative? What have you picked up at a Yard Sale that just needs a coat of paint for a new life in your home?
