Last week, in my 2nd Grade Sunday School class, our story was about the Angel Gabriel visiting Mary. The kids in my class really enjoy crafts so after we finished the story, we worked on making these fun angel ornaments using coffee filters. They're easy to make and are a great addition to your family Christmas tree!
Here are the materials you will need:
Materials
- 1 Coffee Filter
- 1 Pipe Cleaner (yellow or white is best)
- 1 Small piece of Cardstock
- Hot Glue Gun
- Shiny Stickers or Glitter
- 1 Piece of yellow or white construction paper
- Curling Ribbon or Yarn
- Label with the Bible Verse
Making these little angels is pretty easy -- which is why it is such a great children's craft!
Tip: Be sure to have your child keep their fingers close together instead of spread apart.
Our Bible verse last week was "You are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). To incorporate that, we added printed labels with the verse to the front of each ornament. Here is what our finished angel looked like:
